Re: facial hair on women
Sat, September 16, 2006 - 4:39 PMI'm skimming the thesis. Interesting...
The topic weirds me out a little bit, which is ironic considering that I don't bother shaving my legs or pits and haven't for years. I guess it's just social programming as work in my brain. -

Re: facial hair on women
Sun, September 17, 2006 - 8:35 PMUpon reading the thesis, the topic no longer weirds me out. If a woman with facial hair wants to grow it out, then fine by me. I'm not even sure why my initial reaction was to be a little put off. Like I said, it was probably just a little social programming going on in my brain.
The women's stories moved me. I can't even imagine feeling that trapped by a "feature" of my body. -

Wed, September 20, 2006 - 8:41 PMit wasnt intentially out of context.....it was just funny as hell to me
not talking about you.... but in general, why do dykes have no sense of humour......(anyone mentions Ellen I will simply say QED) -
-
Re: facial hair on women
Fri, September 22, 2006 - 4:02 PMHmmmm...
All dykes lack a sense of humor.
Beth has a very good sense of humor.
Beth is a dyke.
Contradiction!
Not all dykes lack a sense of humor.
QED.
;-)
Looking at it, I think statement is funny as well. For some reason, it sounded to me like I was some old Texas broad, saying "Go ahead, honey! You just grow out that facial hair!" Don't ask me why I get that mental picture.

Tue, October 3, 2006 - 3:43 PMI have no clue what "ffs" means.
QED means "quod erat demonstrandum" or "which was to be shown or demonstrated." -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

Re: facial hair on women
Sat, November 18, 2006 - 12:45 PMthe idea that lesbians have no sense of humor is dominant majority heterosexist bullshit. why did the idea get promulagated that lesbians have no sense of humor? because jokes made at lesbians expense are not well received. "can't take a joke" goes along with "no sense of humor". other minorites have had this accusation cast at them when they didn't find jokes about them in the media to be amusing. why don't lesbians enjoy having fun poked at them? because as outcaste women lesbians' place in society is unsure and many women dont feel safe joining in with that kind of humor. however, there are many lesbian comedians, funnier than showbizzy ellen, and in private life some of the lesbians i have known have been wickedly funny. maybe youre just hanging out with the wrong crowd of dykes.

Re: facial hair on women
Sat, October 7, 2006 - 9:46 PMThere could be a medical reason why a woman gets facial hair. Sometimes I get little chin hairs that I have to pull out, and I think it's because I have a pituitary tumor that fucks with my hormones. A lot of women have woman-staches. It's time we accept that no one is perfect, no matter how much we look like it after we've plucked, dyed, makeup'd, etc. ;-) -

Re: facial hair on women
Tue, October 10, 2006 - 12:01 AMnews flash ya'll,
WE ALL HAVE FACIAL HAIR!
or at least 90% of us womyn do.
Some more than others, some are in dark contrast to their skin tone, or visa, some let it go, more shave it or bleach it or pluck it.
It's the media, the social norms, the stigma that keeps us from just letting it all hang out.
If we could all get over that initial hump of 'put offness', the next minute will be followed by, whats the big deal and even some will find it sexy as hell.
This world is so ass backwards, dontcha think???
And while were on the subject of hair,
I like a trimmed bush.
A womyn.
Not a little girl.
Of course, to each their own. This is not a blast at anyones opinion.
Just a shout out to those that go in for a trim every now and again down there, but like to keep it mature.
