are hot!

I just started dating someone new and had to express myself.

I met her at an open mike night, and am hoping to gather aspects,
phrases and praises for butches (and gender queers/andro)
so if you feel inspired please say what you like!

I like juicy butches that have confidence and sexual power,
and that are aldo responsive and happy to let you have your way it them.....

I totally agree! Yum yum yum. Andro, tomboy, and butch women are hotties!

So if butch dykes are so hot, then why do all the newspaper ads specify no butch women? Or is that just a midwest thing?

Out here, if I saw an ad that said that, I'd probably think that it was written by a guy <lol>. Just like those Craigs List ads that have photos of half-nekkid femmes. I mean, what percentage of women would post something like that?

I LOVE femmes, but I would never write "no butches" anywhere. Seems like cutting off the potential for some great women. It'd be like saying "no brunettes", just 'cause I think blondes are hot. But I think that a hot woman is hot, no matter how she IDs herself.

Congrats on your new butch inamorata, Angel!!

i think it is a regional thing... butch dykes have some space where i live to be pretty out but different regional cultures are more repressive.

St. Louis gets kinda weird with the dating scene any way. I've offered to buy someone a drink (as a thank you for holding my place) only to be glared at by her girlfriend. I even offered to buy one for each of them because I didn't want to step on any toes.

And my friends wonder why I'm not dating.

I moved from St. Louis in '95 to San Francisco because I wanted to live in a place where it didn't matter. I want to be able to hold my lovers hand as we walk down the street without looks or comments.

As a butch woman, I found that in SF. On the other hand, there are so many of us, we are sometimes still hidden from each other, and find it hard to connect. I guess it's bitter sweet, and I can't imagine living anywhere else!

I have a shirt with a whole mess of slogans on it, and one of them is:

No fats, femmes, butches, or bisexuals; I want her thin and boring.

      <laugh>

Yeah, I hate those "no this, no that" comments in personals too!

That's HILARIOUS... I want her thin and boring... Like those ones that say, no baggage = I want someone with no life experience or memories... lol.

My friend wrote that shirt, I think...is it the one with a bunch of bisexual phrases on it? She and her pals at Michigan, I believe.

when i first started beig with women, i was thought only attracted to femmes. but as i got older, wiser and figured out more about what i like, i started becoming attracted more and more to butches.

    butch is so hot.

      Speaking as a butch womyn,
I gotta say, It's never been a choice for me.
I've always embraced my masculine side more then my feminine.
Even though I do have my femme side, the butch qualities stand out more.
I think thats the way with a lot of butch womyn.
I would look and feel ridiculous if I got femme'd out.
And there is no way in the world I would ever want to be a guy.
Personally there is no cooler spot in the world than being a womyn loving womyn.
Whether butch or femme, I feel this is the greatest role a person can find herself in during
      her lifetime.
My only complaint is that the life of lesbians can be somewhat restrictive and boring.
Meaning that creativity is not exactly one of our cultures strong points.
Perhaps we stay somewhat closed to protect ourselves which is understandable,
but I would love to see more creative freedom outside the mainstream that we tend to
find ourselves in while trying to fit into to prove that were just like straight people.

this gender bending is perhaps what we needed to be able to relax our roles.
Allowing people to be a varied vision of the tried and true roles.

You make some solid points. I also have never wanted to transgender, but I'm definetly more butch than feme. Now if I could only find a g/f I might be able to get a little more creative with her. :)

I also tried the femme thing when I was younger, but once I got over the
family you have to be married thing, being anything but butch wasn't comfortable.
BTW, I'm the "new kid" to this corner. lol!
  • what about trannies?

    Tue, February 13, 2007 - 1:14 PM
what about FtMs? I'm "butch" with an added bonus of the plumming that you guys want AND i'm intelligent and can socialize between sexes. i'd say i've got it all. i wish some women in the Queer community could get over certain boundaries. especially when they LOVE butches but then shun FtMs.
and craigslist is hysterical. i'm in NYC so greater population means more dumb people. all those femmes who want femmes are "bi" and have boyfriends (as stated in their ads). i think the only reason they want a femme is because that's what society has told them is acceptable. but i'm like, hey, do you date femme men?

There are some femmes who are almost exclusively attracted to other femmes and the idea of sticking a schlong in our mouths is just revolting. I have heard some dykes say the ideal woman for them would be a female with a penis but Chris I suggest you get over your fantasies about having sex with a lesbian and try for a bisexual woman instead. Most real lesbians wouldn't give you the time of day, because you don't have the right kind of "plumbing" we want. What exactly are you, a Female to Male transexual? Did you get male genitalia sewn on? in that case forget what i was saying i don't know enough about it maybe there is a lesbian out there for you somewhere.

I'm sorry, I don't know what FtM means, Female to Male transexual? I'm not trying to be either disrespectful or rude. Please give me a brain Mr. Wizard! And a heart like the tin man. You called me a punk? Well, whatcha gonna do about it? Honestly I don't know what kind of lesbian would want to sleep with a trannie unless they were confused or too drunk to know what they were doing.
I don't care how drunk I might be the only way I would ever get into bed with you would be if I was completely unconscious and didn't know about it. And even then I would be screaming for help the whole time. Get off of me you stupid freak!

I'm sorry that's just how I react to men who want to pork me. Maybe you don't want to do it to me personally but you did say you did it with a lot of lesbians. I give you the benediction that in your next life you can take birth in the body of a real woman and become a lesbian yourself if you want to. Otherwise you can go to Krishna's planet and serve Him, it is all up to you. Just remember to chant Hare Krishna and your life will be sublime.

who cares if youre a transvestite,transgender,lesbian,bi-sexual,femme,butch,bdsm,hetero, whatever,i mean does it really matter?

obvious everyone is attracted to different people for different reasons. if somebody who wasnt born with a dick wants to have a dick, i say more power to em! at least they know what they want / how they feel and are willing to go after it. if you can't respect that, maybe you should leave this tribe.

now back to the subject at hand...sweet butches.

I love thier shoulders, the way they carry themselves,
the way they are sexy without feminine trappings,
just kinda strong and tough and sweet all at once.

more power to ya! Nothing worse than people fighting off the bigots and then turning around and being just that.

I'm not sure it translates completely fluidly= plumming? What women (biologically came that way) want? I like people in all their glorious bodies- whether they are ftm mtf or fbutch/femme.

I have only found that toe curling sensation with strong women-butch with a real womany totally with her own sex identiy. I know I'm butchering this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can't we all just get along?

yeah, butches are hot! Wishin I had one to adore like yours. sssnickering.

I like people who are cool.

As for myself. I'm sorta stuck in the world of being butch. I don't mean to be. I LOVE skirts and makeup and girly frilly stuff, but being 5'10" and large has forced me to take on more masculine roles, and so after a while I stopped fighting, and just accepted the term gender queer.

I've posted on craigslist before... oh man, I regreted it as soon as i got my first e-mail. It was horrible.
    • Re: Butch Dykes

      Thu, March 8, 2007 - 1:04 PM
You know, Ammre, you don't have to put away the skirts, makeup, etc., just because you're a big girl. I'm 5'11" and a size 20 myself, and no less "femme" for being able to physically dominate almost all of my partners, reach the top shelf, carry heavy things, change my own tire, or be able to field-strip a Powerbook in short order.

And the thing is, I don't see it as any kind of "fight". I'm just not sure what you mean by "masculine roles" as opposed to more like "larger person" roles. :-\

Nothing wrong with your own conclusion on the matter, of course...I'm jus' sayin', is all.

Jeez, I'm tired all the butches stealing thunder, Lol. I'm what you would call Femme, but I'm just as strong, confident, aggressive as any butch would be. I fix my own leaky pipes, I can change a tire and kill spiders ;-) I buy drinks, have drinks bought for me, and shamelessly flirt. What's a girl gotta do to get some luv!!! Seriously though( I get lots of love, not a problem) I love my tomboyish dykes, truely hot!!! I'm just saying don't underestimate or overlook us girly girls. We can top, bottom, hell sideways your ass with the best of them AND strap it on with a pair of lacey panties! Luv

      Amen, sista! Testify!

And just try being a femme into *other femmes*...oy vey. Especially in the SF Bay, the very epicenter of the Cult of the Butchâ„¢. Nothing against butches, mind you, except for how hard the fixation on them can sometimes make it to find other femme-loving femmes. :-P

Really? I mean I live here (SF Bay - South bay) and I haven't noticed that.

I am pretty andro, but do tend to fall on the butch side of the fence. I don't notice anyone fixating on me... not that I wouldn't mind a bit of fixation now and again.

Seriously! All I ever seem to be hearing about is "butch-femme social" this and "hot butch" that. Again...nothing against it, but there's just doesn't seem to be any noticeable activity in the femme-femme world around here.

I did just start seeing a wonderful femme...but she said that I'm the first other femme she's ever dated. :-O

          That sort of thing. :P

Hello, I'm new here and I'd like to comment if I may please. Firstly, congratulations on your new sweetie, Angel. Butches are very yummy indeed!

I love butches, bois and transmen and as a Femme, I do my best to be of support to them. I think that genderqueers in general are very hot. Haters and those who judge others, however, are a turn off. I think that we should support one another as queers, regardless of our personal sexual preferences.

It takes a lot of guts, honesty and courage to live one's life as a butch or FTM and if you ask me, that's hella sexy.

as a butch, i do like femmes, but have been with a pre-op ftm and a few androgonous (?) womyn. im confident and a bit of a monogomous slut...get me in a relationship and im all yours ;) i like womyn, femme, butch, andro...im curious about post-op ftm...not sure about mtf tho, if i met someone who i connected with i probably would go for it, i reckon im fairly open-minded about who i date, but im very specific and know exactly what im looking for, so if i dont think your it, you wont get there.
    • I am a little behind on this thread...

      Wed, April 18, 2007 - 9:06 AM
But I just read the entire thing and I must say, being a lipstick lesbian, I feel hurt. Well, not *really*, but I never knew there were so many women who love androgyny in other women. I am assuming that by "butch" you mean the wifebeater-sportsbra-wearing-baggypant-shorthaired-cutie. That describes my wifey perfectly. And I must say, I never went out thinking that I would fall inlove with "that type of girl", but when you shed your stereotypes and leave your judgements at home, magical things can happen.

I found my perfect match, and I don't think of it as a femme with a butch. It's not about our looks that makes us great together, it's the yin and the yang in our lives. I can change my own tire, kill spiders, and pump my own gas. But guess what? She loves to do that for me. I am the femme that can dominate anyone in bed and in the office. In fact, I control most everything in the household: finances, groceries, what toilet paper we buy. Then we both do the dishes and she cooks most of the time! Just like some of you in this thread, whether or not we are femme or butch shouldn't be defined by how we look or what we do. And you shouldn't rule out anyone that might make you happy just because they look a certain way or have certain body parts.
