Here's a story, in which scientists have made pre-sperm stem cells out of bone marrow stem cells. Male ones, of course:

My question: If they can do it with male bone marrow cells, why not female ones? If you could have a genetic baby with your partner, would you?
Of course, it'll be a good long time before any of this technology is available to the girl on the street, but it's interesting to ponder.

Mon, April 16, 2007 - 11:01 PMWouldn't try to combine two ova unless it was a sure thing, don't want a malformed embryo.
However, invitro of one ova from a bio mom into a surrogate mom equates equal parenting rights by law (2003 ish) not sure if it has changed.
